Oh look more features!

Another feature of amazing art I’ve found and loved:

I feel I should talk about my process in picking features and how I arrange them. As for arrangement, I don’t just simply spam all the images and hit submit. I carefully order and re-order images, based on themes, size, color, content, artists and other factors like I try my best not to lump character or drawings of a certain skin tone or fandom or style in together. I try to space them out and have all the images be unsegregated by work together in other ways that compliment each other, and the feature as a whole; but sometimes in order to show off a given work that I feel deserves more p

How long do you think it'll be before you can fully support yourself with your art?

You know what. I don’t know, it scares me that I don’t know.

I stand on the cusp of attempting a patreon to help fund my endeavors and live the life I’ve always wanted to. Though I wish to finish my backlog of commissions before fully dedicating myself to that, I’m also a bit reluctant to find out if this reality is achievable.

I’ve had a lot of people warn me, that treating your hobby as work would potentially ruin your interest in it. Though I see it as an alternative to spending your whole life doing something you don’t feel passionate about.

Just relating to that last part, where you mention being warned that treating your hobby as work would potentially ruin your interest in it: I highly recommend “The War of Art” by Steven Pressfield (the audiobook off iTunes if you can find it, it sounds way more convincing when narrated by a grumpy old man).

He makes a lot of good points, one of which being that those who make art for a living love it more than those who only do it as a hobby, because they love it so much that they’ve decided to devote their whole lives to it!

It’s also just a great book for getting motivated, and teaching yourself to stay motivated. 10/10 would read again.

tl;dr: I’m doing my hobby for a living and don’t regret the decision for a second.
